Real Estate (Property) Taxes

Property Taxes are calculated with a millage rate which leave many residents to ponder, what is a mill? One mill is equivalent to one-tenth of a cent or $0.001. The amount of tax payable is dependent on the assessed value of a property therefore a property tax is calculated by multiplying the assessed property value by the mill rate then dividing by 1,000. Consider a property assessed at $200,000 with a mill rate of 15. The property tax levied would be $3,000.

  • Municipal (North Londonderry Township) – 2.012 mills
  • Fire Hydrant (properties within a 780 foot radius of a hydrant) – .061 mills
  • Street Lighting (properties within a 250 foot radius of a street light – the Township owns only 3, all on E Hemlock St) – $0.80 per foot of property road frontage
  • County (Lebanon) – 4.3925 mills
  • School (Palmyra Area School District) – 17.7451 mills
